Muriel Verbeeck
I founded Systrace to bring together experience, skills, and vision in one place. My atypical career has always combined fundamental and applied research, an analytical approach, and a universalist aspiration, all within a pragmatic perspective. What matters to me is facing reality and implementing projects that serve society. It is also, admittedly, a certain conception of challenge and the "transformability" of our societies..

Experience
As a historian, philosopher (Ph.D.), and holder of a master's degree in Information Science and Documentation, I teach in the field of conservation. As a visiting professor at the Institut National du Patrimoine in Paris and a researcher at the University of Liège, I have designed and led projects both in Belgium and abroad, notably COTOCOCO and PICCo in the DRC. I have also obtained several research grants, including from ICCROM and the Getty Conservation Institute.
Passionate about Open Science, I created in 2008 the first Open Access journal in Conservation: CeROArt, which is still today classified and indexed internationally as Diamond Open Access.
Finally, I chair the Scientific Council of the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage in Brussels.
